Hi My name is jensen harris and i'm in windows user experience team and today i wanna show you a few features of the windows 8.1 preview.
i wanna start on the lock screen.we turned the lock screen into this beautiful cloud photo () frame.it brings together pictures from your pc,from skydrive and from phone
all into one place and here we are in the new windows 8.1 start screen.immediately you can see we have added a couple of new tile sizes.we have this large tile that we're using for
weather or imagine this large tile can also show you a few mails or your entire day of counter appointments.we have also added small tile size which like to create a very efficient start screen
something we improved in windows 8.1 is the all app screen.i just swype up and i see the list of all the apps on my PC.i can sort this list to see my most used apps or i can sort 'em by the category such as game or news or mabe i just wanna see the most recent installed apps from the store
to pin an app to the start screen i'm just going to press and hold and choose pin to start now if i just want to rearrange the start screen i press and hold the same way and i can even select a few apps at once,once as i selected the apps i'll pick them up all at the same time and move them where i want them
and then i'm gonna name the group and i have the start screen look just the way i wanted to.we've also added personalize options.we let you select from the whole rainbow colors now.so you can match your favorite sports team or just choose your favorite color.we've also added this awsome new motion accents like this dargon that it follows your finger
and moves in the background. the tail extends down into the all app screen.it's pretty cool.we've also added () to let you choose your desktop wallpaper behind start.one of my favorite new feature in windows 8.1 is a new search feature i wanna start typing in and () like marlyn monroe.we created a beautiful (curated) app like experience.it brings together
everything on PC and on the web into a place.even it contain information in the () (lakes) you other queries actions that i can do directly from the ().it brings back beautiful web result to show you exactly what the webpages gonna look like when you open it.in (web) search that has rich tools that let you choose exactly what color image you wanna bring back
or which size do you wanna see the faces.to show this another example i'm gonana open up the search and type sk and you can see everything you can do in a one (pin)
you can see launch apps like skydrive and skype.i can directly play music.it brings back web result.everything's under my finger tips. that's the power of windows search.windows 8.1 is powered ny the cloud
the important part of skydrive which gives you gigs of space to put all your files up into the cloud so it be (available) in every pc. XXX(with the every app on this pc i can) and those i wanna keep on a device in a single placeXXX.
we've also made it really easy to multitask on windows 8.1,for instance here i am in the mail app.i'm gonna tap open and it's gonna open the photo app side by side.
automatically with mail.we can choose the size of these 2 apps.i can () easily.i can make one big and one small but these are real running apps.i can look through the photos.i can do like photo editing and it just look prettier and if we have a large screen we can put 2,3 or 4 apps at once.these are a few features on the windows 8.1 preview.
